Arcadia
Schools Workshop Tour – Summer/Autumn 2007.

Arcadia has been written and is delivered by the highly acclaimed Nigerian storyteller – Odiri Ighambre-Aiken. Suitable for years 5, 6 and 7, Arcadia specifically addresses the anxieties many primary school students face in making the big leap to secondary school.

“From the story you can learn to face your fears, and find out that they might not be as bad as you thought.” Year 6 Pupil, Henwick Primary School.

Arcadia explores what happens when an adventurous child – Timone decides to step out beyond the village boundaries and go where no other villager has dared to tread… The pupils come together to create an ensemble theatre piece led by Odiri and supported by a creative team of musicians, choreographers and/or designers.

“There were important lessons to be learnt about teamwork, deadlines and the wonderful feeling of knowing you’ve put on a marvellous show and your audience thought you were fantastic.” Teacher – Henwick Primary School.
