Last Song of the Blackbird

The sister film to last years Centigrade, Last Song of the Blackbird is set in the year 2070. The ice caps have melted and the world’s weather systems have changed dramatically. The United Kingdom is now a country besieged by flooding in the winter and drought in the summer…

In this world young people live under the constant threat of disease, starvation and homelessness… A third of the countries indigenous flora and fauna have been decimated and the countryside has changed beyond recognition…

Last Song of the Blackbird follows a group of young people who have been separated from their families, trying to survive as best they can against seemingly insurmountable odds.

Into this stark and terrifying world comes a glimmer of hope. The discovery of a nest filled with eggs in woodland near the camp.

Last Song of the Blackbird will be written by the young people under the guidance of professional TV writer and film maker Grant Watson.
