Yorgin Oxo:The Man by Thomas Crowe (2006) A Co-Production with Theatre 503, directed by Alex Clifton, designed by Alice Walkling. Starring Tom Hiddleston. Awarded Time Out Four Star Critic’s Choice. Following the death of his Uncle Quagmire, Yorgin Oxo sets out to save his fellow Marshlanders from the scheming Simeon. A zany, picaresque, Christmas show. Thomas Crowe’s writing includes – Bilston Service Station by Night (Royal Court), The Laugh (London New Play Festival), The Corridor (Paines Plough Wild Lunch) and Photos of Religion (Theatre 503).

All Fall Away by Said Sayrafiezadeh (2005) A Co-Production with Stockport Theatre & Theatre 503, directed by Stuart Mullins and starring Tanya Franks, Lindon Alexander, Liza Hayden and Peter Adams. Puppetry by Seong Kyun Yoo. Awarded Guardian Four Star Critic’s Choice. Set at Christmas, poverty stricken Samantha, an immigrant and single mother struggles to find food for her autistic child and avoid eviction from her flat. Playwright Said Sayrafrezadeh is of mixed race Jewish American/Iranian parentage. Much of his work reflects the complexities of his dual ethnicity. He lives and works in New York City.

The Ministry of Pleasure by Craig Baxter (2004) Co-Produced by Theatre 503 and Shadow of an Eye, and directed by Stuart Mullins. Set in Restoration England, Rochester is the debauched Minister of Pleasure to Charles II. An epic of a piece, The Ministry of Pleasure combines sex with science, passion with politics and lashings of bawdy humour. Playwright Craig Baxter (PBAB’s 2004 Writer-in Residence) is a former zoologist with an MA in Playwriting. Stage Plays include: St James and the Tattoo Man, Taking Liberties, Cold Moon Rising and The Man Who Could Walk through Walls in addition to a trilogy of Community Plays for Barking and Dagenham. Radio 4: The Thrill of the Chaste. Television: Wanted, Who Cared For Billie-Jo.

You Don’t Kiss by Troy Fairclough (2003) Oval House and National Tour. Directed by Stuart Mullins and starring Lindon Alexander, Mark Oliver and Eugene Washington. A gay love story set in London. This was Troy’s first play and won him the Newnham Writing Out Award. “Bristles with energy’ Time Out. He was one of only three writers selected to take part in BBC’ Radio’s ‘Sound Writing’.

Monogamy by Craig Baxter toured as part of double bill Double Helix (2002). First produced by PBAB in 1999 at The Grace Theatre, Battersea and revived in Spring 2000 at The Riverside Studios, London. Director Stuart Mullins. Starring Joseph Millson and Caroline Fitzgerald. Awarded Guardian Four Star Critic’s Choice. An anti-romantic comedy, Monogamy looks at the way men and women interact as sexual couples, the nurturing, territoriality, the everyday games and betrayals.

The Animals by Craig Baxter toured as part of double bill Double Helix (2002). First produced Summer 1998 at The Dublin Theatre Festival. Director Stuart Mullins. A satirical look at a group of passionate but incompetent animal rights activists who attempt to make a ‘political’ statement through direct action but with tragic consequences.
